Telling stories in pictures

We communicate (younger folks especially) more and more using a universal language of pictograms, icons and emoji . This language may seem new, but it's actually one of the oldest - think cave paintings. 

As we work on the Youth Voices mural, this vocabulary of pictures may help to deepen the meaning of those voices while not having to spell everything out .  To see an example of a pictogram novella, check out this page from Xu Bing's, "Book from the Ground" .
